Considering how regularly new versions of Firefox now come along, that's quite some bug fix list in version 10! http://t.co/K3I2vLpW 1 week ago

Going Further with WordPress

closeThis post was written 3 years 6 months 28 days days old, so is a bit old now. Feel free to read and comment on this post, just remember some things change with time and any facts in this post may not be accurate anymore.

Over the last few days I’ve been making some changes to my WordPress install. Did you notice?

The most obvious, and the last one I implemented, was a post counter. So, yes, right now it looks pretty low but this is starting from scratch – as of about 5:30pm on the 17th July.

I’ve also upgraded my WordPress installation to 2.6. This caused PHP Speedy to break so Leon kindly provided me with a new version. However, I made such a general pigs-ear of the WordPress upgrade that I’ve now also installed an automated upgrader for future. Surely it can’t be any worse than me, can it?

Anyway, WordPress 2.6 brings partial integration with Google Gears – the admin section will cache itself for extra speed. Not quite the offline viewing that Gears is usually used for but it’s a start.
