Reviews

Reviews are not performed in a lab with direct comparison against a number of similar products. Instead each one is looked at and used in the way that the average consumer would do. A magazine review, for instance may not rate highly a product which doesn’t have a quick speed but in “real world” use wouldn’t be a noticable issue. It’s only when you compare a product against others that often you even realise there’s any kind of difference. This is why you may find customer reviews on shopping sites to have different views to those of the professional reviewers.

Artiss.co.uk is the place to come to find down-to-earth, snappy reviews. We’re as likely to be reviewing a keyboard as a laptop (have you noticed that the magazines rarely look at peripherals?).

Although the site has close links with a number of technology firms, this is in no way reflected in the reviews which are always impartial and fair.

If you have a product that you’d like reviewing then please read my review submission guide.

About David Artiss

I’ve has been involved with IT since the age of 12, since being given a Commodore 64 as a Christmas present. I went on to excel at “Computer Studies” at school before moving onto doing much the same thing at college. Missing the opportunity to go to University, I went straight into a job working as a mainframe programmer for a large UK business over 20 years ago. Although moving through a variety of jobs since, they’ve all been with the same company and all within IT.

Web development has been a hobby for over 10 years and I’ve designed a number of successful websites. Combining this with WordPress has lead me to develop a number of free WordPress plugins – many have been written and I have many more planned!

The list of programming languages that I know is extensive, but I’d ideally love to work in a PHP/MySQL development role as my full-time job. Sadly my lack of commercial experience is this area prevents this.

I’m a family man with a wife and 2 lovely daughters and I live near Nottingham.
