Review Submission Guide

What will I review? Anything of a “tech” nature – gadgets, computer hardware, software, peripherals, etc.

I only generate enough money from this blog to cover my own expenses. To spend the time reviewing a product and writing up the results means that I really don’t want to be “out of pocket” as a result – whether this is monetary or time. As a result I have put in place the following very short guidelines.

Software

If I am requested to test trial or demonstration software then it should show off the full extent of the product, without restriction. If this is not the case, then a full version would be required.

As a general rule of thumb, commercial software has greater priority (in terms of when I can get around to reviewing it), although software is generally given less a priority than hardware.

Hardware

Because of limited resources any hardware sent cannot be returned (and this includes courier pickups). The up-side of this is that by retaining the hardware I continue to use and comment on it, providing further benefit to both parties.

In those instances where I have allowed hardware to be loaned, I reserve the right to retain it if a suitable pickup arrangement is not made within 2 calendar months of being requested.

If you wish to send anything, please contact me. I usually provide my work address as, working in an IT department, they will often get a good looking at by a number of experienced technical people before I even get a chance to take it home (and they often want to buy the item as a result!).
