After creating a seperate Blog just for web development, I’ve now created a seperate wedding Blog. Hurrah. Therefore most of the posts from here that related to one of these has been “transplanted” to its new, better home.
I’ve also removed various Blog add-ons that were doing nothing much other than slow the site down. And then added a new one .
If you glance over at the right you’ll see a playlist which streams music of my own choosing (code supplied by Radio.blog). At the moment it’s looking a bit sparse, but it will eventually show a representation of the kind of stuff that I like to listen to. God help you all.

Yep, it’s nearly Christmas and in the New Year, the wedding invites are being sent out. They’re all ready and sat in a shoe box on our bedroom wardrobe.
As per a previous post, we’ve had the cards designed for us, but I’ve done the inserts (plus various assorted bits of paper that are loose inside… you know, the usual, asking for music requests, etc).
Then we have two things to do, sooner rather than later - contact the vicar and the caterers. The vicar needs contacting to we can discuss rehearsals, order of service, etc. The caterers, well, we need to confirm the final menu. And that they can supply tables and chairs (we thought the hall was going to be able to do this, but in the end they couldn’t). Hmm.
In the meantime, have a good Christmas!

I mentioned that I was going into Nottingham last Saturday to sort out suit hire… well the picture is the end result. What a dapper chap I look!
Until I got the bill. Ouch.
Never mind, it’s all worth it. And, yes, that is a cravat I’m wearing (after everything I said) - it’s one of the new styley types that can be tied like a, erm, tie.
I was tempted to remove my head from the picture, as I was unshaven and hungover at the time, with a serious case of bed-head. Thankfully it’s not noticeable (and thanks to my best man Luis for taking the picture on his camera-phone, the resolution of which makes such nice photos possible!).

Our plans are already well under way, but the next milestone are the invitations. Gold and cream to match the general colour scheme for the wedding, they have been designed and hand made by Judy Zatonski who counts author Jilly Cooper amongst her customers.
Most of the money that Judy makes goes towards Greyhound charities.
The design can, exclusively, be seen here - I’ve not even put this on the website yet.
I’ve also printed all the inserts that go inside - these differentiate the cards between being reception and evening invites. This was done on some matching cream paper, but I’ve yet to cut them out and stick them into the cards.
The final, big hurdle is to produce some matching address labels - I’ve already brought some transparent Avery ones. I just need to get all the address together and design a suitable label.
Fingers crossed, the cards should be out by the end of the year.
Oh, and on Saturday I head into Nottingham with my best man to find some suits…. I hope I don’t end up with a cravat!

Ok, I was wrong. The wedding wasn’t a struggle. But then I said I wasn’t going to drink, and I did. Conversation flowed, laughs were had and it all turned out well in the end.
And any best mans speech that can start, “I’ll admit to being a bit nervous. This isn’t the first time today I’ve got up from a warm seat with some paper in my hand”, deserves a salute. Rob, I salute you.
And the groom turned up in a bright red Ferrari.
